Design & Project Management
We understand the challenges and the opportunities of sensory design.
We’re here to help you make choices that matter whether designing a classroom, a meeting room, a hotel or a fitness space.
Our approach is to listen, ask tough questions and work with you to create environments that feel calm, inclusive, and inspiring. Our approach is practical, evidence-led and deeply human.
Over the past decade we have designed and delivered (with the help of a team of dedicated, like-minded professionals) over £6,000,000 of home, school and workplace interiors.
1. Discovery & Brief
Tell us all about your project. Be prepared for some tough questions. Costs nothing!
Based on what you have told us, we will produce an overview identifying key objectives, opportunities, constraints and an indicative timeline.
At the same time, we will submit a quote for Stages 3, 4 & 5. Each stage will be itemised out and you only commit to one stage at a time.
No charge.
2. Conceptual Design Development
This stage starts with a site survey. And more questions. Understanding different viewpoints is vital. This will include reference to relevant legislation.
Only then can we start the creative process. Expect to see ideation sketches, plans, elevations and (if agreed) photorealistic visuals and video fly-throughs.
Stakeholder workshops to agreed dates are an important part of the process. Budget costs will be produced for comment and adjustment. At the end of this stage the design is agreed in principle.
This stage will be quoted in advance and subject to a written instruction.
3. Technical Design Development
Building on the agreed concept, we now develop the design in depth. This includes detailed plans, sections, elevations, technical notes and specialist consultant input as required, eg, planning consultant, structural engineer, M&E engineer
We coordinate all statutory requirements, including Building Regulations, safeguarding considerations, accessibility standards and any school‑specific compliance needs.
Materials, finishes and equipment are specified, and we refine costs in line with the approved budget. By the end of this stage, every aspect of the design is technically resolved and ready for pricing and procurement.
This stage will be quoted in advance and subject to a written instruction.
4. Procurement
With the technical design complete, we prepare all the information needed for procurement.
are all the information needed for procurement. We review returned prices, highlight any value‑engineering opportunities, and help you appoint the right delivery partners with full transparency and confidence.
This may include schedules of work, tender packages, performance specifications, and contractor briefing documents. We can support competitive tendering, negotiated procurement, or selection from an approved contractor list, whichever route best suits your project.
Optional.
5. Project Delivery
Once on site, we remain closely involved to protect design quality, programme and cost. We offer site inspections, progress meetings, contractor coordination, and responses to site queries
Any unforeseen issues are resolved quickly and pragmatically. We track quality, safety and compliance throughout construction and installation, ensuring the final result matches the agreed vision and technical standards.
At completion, we carry out snagging, certify practical completion (if required), and oversee final handover documentation.
Optional.
6. Use & Evaluation
After the space is occupied, we don’t disappear. We return to evaluate how the environment is performing, functionally, practically and experientially.
This may include user feedback, post‑occupancy checks, environmental performance review and recommendations for fine‑tuning.
If you wish, we can provide ongoing support for maintenance planning, future upgrades, or additional phases. This final stage ensures your investment continues to deliver long‑term value and supports your community’s needs.
Optional.
